RHS Forget Me Not Ultramarine Seeds 300 Seeds, Hardy Biennial Blue Cottage Flower
RHS Forget Me Not Ultramarine Seeds by Mr Fothergill’s produce compact plants covered in vivid ultramarine blue flowers with bright yellow centres. These classic spring blooms create a dense carpet of colour, perfect for borders, containers and under planting spring bulbs.
Also known by its botanical name Myosotis sylvatica, this hardy biennial grows to approximately 15cm in height with a spread of around 15cm. The neat growth habit makes it ideal for edging paths, filling gaps at the front of borders and weaving through tulips, daffodils and other spring favourites.
Ultramarine holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit for reliability and consistent garden performance. It is also recognised as Perfect for Pollinators, helping to provide early season nectar for bees and beneficial insects. The seed range is produced by Mr Fothergill’s in partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society.
Forget Me Not Ultramarine thrives in full sun or partial shade and prefers moist but well drained soil. It is easy to grow directly outdoors and is particularly effective when planted in drifts for a natural cottage garden look.
For outdoor sowing, sow from May to July in a prepared seed bed. Sow thinly in rows 15cm apart and cover with approximately 0.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear in 14 to 28 days.
When large enough to handle, thin to 5cm apart. Transplant 15cm apart in flowering position from September to October. Keep moist and weed free during establishment.
Plants flower from April to June in the following year. For striking spring containers, sow some seeds in pots alongside spring flowering bulbs.
